It’s going to be a quiet weekend for the newest Wide releases, as Hadestown: The Musical leads a trio of movies each set to open in fewer than 2,000 theaters. This is the “dead” weekend that no major studio wanted to deal with being sandwiched between last week’s The Odyssey and next week’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Which then becomes good news for the holdovers, particularly for Odyssey that is projected to reach $273M after just TEN DAYS. $400M now becomes a real possibility.
