That 3-week stretch of underachievers Supergirl-Minions-Moana seems like the distant past considering what we’ve experienced these past 3 weeks. And that includes a middle weekend of no new releases. After The Odyssey smashed its way to nearly $400M through its first 17 days, Spider-Man: Brand New Day just broke every single opening weekend record (and then some) with a jaw-dropping $360M. That would already be good for #77 on the All Time Domestic list. ALL TIME. Left in its wake is 2019’s Avengers: Endgame ($357M), a box office record thought to never be broken. The combination of Spidey + Odyssey helped drive a collective weekend total of $429M, beating 2019’s total of $402M. Remember how fascinating Barbenheimer weekend was in 2023? Try $310M total.
Spidey just made $47M this Monday to already surpass $400M in 4 days. Count on it being #1 at $500M+ after the upcoming weekend, with $600M a definite possibility.

- #1 Toy Story 5 ($6.7M) once again has an excellent hold (-33.4%) in its 7th weekend. At $462.1M it climbed 4 more spots to #27 on the All Time domestic box office list. Next on the list at #26 is 2024’s Wicked ($474.9M).
- #2 The Odyssey ($51.0M) enjoyed a very nice hold (-43.3%) in its 3rd weekend. At $395.5M total it shot up 75 spots to #60 All Time. Next on the list at #59 is 2013’s Frozen. ($400.7M).
- #4 Obsession ($503K) again leads the run of movies dropping 1 spot, but this time due a theater count purge of 770+ theaters in its 12th weekend. Its $262.8M total moves up a couple spots to #156 All Time. Next on the list at #155 is 2025’s How To Train Your Dragon ($262.9M).
- #5 The Devil Wears Prada 2 is done at $220.6M.
- #6 Backrooms ($331K) actually improved in its 10th weekend, still hanging around at $197.2M.
- #7 Mandalorian and Grogu ($17K) is on life support at $177.7M and just won’t go away.
- #8 Minions & Monsters ($6.0M) dropped another spot despite a nice 5th weekend hold (-38.4%). Now at $168.5M its got Mando in its sights.

Next Weekend: Three new Wide releases come out, none of which were picked or are even threats to our current Top 10. Perhaps One Night Only will be the winner among newcomers with a projected $8.5M. That just means more $$$ for our holdovers.
