This July 4th weekend should be a bit quieter on the movie front as we only have 1 to track. After a 2-year wait, Minions: The Rise of Gru finally hits theaters. All but 2 players selected it, and we can expect the kids to come out in full force. The RT Audience Score is quite good and I’m sure the upcoming CinemaScore will also impress. But I simply do not understand the appeal of Minions, and I feel sorry for the parents that will have to sit through it. Hopefully they can make up for it this weekend with parties, drinks and fireworks, oh my.
