Current Top 10
Hope everyone here had a fantastic holiday weekend!
And look… we now have a full slate of movies in our current Top 10. Joy.
It was a nice opening for The Little Mermaid with $95M earned over 3 days and $118M through Monday. But that’s it. Just nice. And not close to the projected $149M. After all, GOTG3 did $118M in its 3-day weekend. We’ll have to see what kind of legs it has with its 94% RT Audience Score and ‘A’ CinemaScore to hopefully (for me at least) finish #2. Get it? Legs? Zing!!
GOTG3 again had another excellent 3-day hold of -35.8% and is now at $306M, slightly exceeding the weekend’s projection. On the other hand we got a less-than-expected performance from Fast X thanks to its stinky -65.6% 3-day hold.
Nothing else this weekend surpassed $6M over 4 days. Ouch.
Next Weekend: 2 Wide releases, including the highly-anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. 35 players selected it, with someone even listing it as their #1. I like it!
